Imagine Peace: United in Diversity
July 2025

Funded by the Capitoline Assembly
The project aims to contribute to the dissemination of a culture of peace and inclusion among people with disabilities through art, the communication strategies employed within the Leonarda Vaccari Institute, and, whenever possible, the active involvement of the community. This is achieved through a process that unfolds through activities where interindividual differences become the primary source of enrichment and mutual growth, both for the staff and volunteers working within the Leonarda Vaccari Institute and for the users who use the various services.
The project will involve almost all the laboratories of the semi-residential service of the L. Vaccari Institute, together with the volunteers of the VAILV ODV and the team that works with the users.
Each art workshop will produce user-created handicrafts that highlight the theme of peace. Each group will be assigned the task of imagining peace, discussing it with VAILV educators and volunteers, and attempting to reproduce their vision using the tools typically used in that workshop.
At the end of the project, exhibition days open to the public will be held, during which each workshop will propose its own vision and interpretation of peace through the artisanal products created, which will form a sort of “ Manifesto/Puzzle” of peace .
Duration: 6 months
